WASTE DISPOSAL
The NIH has several categories of waste and specific procedures for segregation, labeling & collection. See the NIH guide to waste disposal (waste calendar) which is posted in the labs. The web version of the Guide to Waste Disposal is the most current and may differ from the printed version (see below for links).
The law requires proper disposal of waste. The generator is responsible for ensuring waste is properly segregated and labeled from the point of generation to collection by the contractor.
