Academic Extramural and Private Sector Collaborations

A goal from the inception of the branch was to ensure the Neuro-Oncology Branch (NOB) was not an isolated program but rather an integral part of the overall national brain tumor research enterprise. With that goal in mind, we have pursued a variety of diverse activities including being a full and participating member of the CTEP-sponsored Adult Brain Tumor Consortium (ABTC) and Radiation Therapy Oncology Group (RTOG).

NOB is also actively engaged in collaboration with the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard University for the high-throughput siRNA screening of various glioma stem cell lines derived by NOB and developing a new collaboration in systems biology with Dr. Andrea Califano at Columbia University.

Finally, we have established multiple Cooperative Research and Development Agreements, Clinical Trial Agreements, Confidentiality Agreements, and Material Transfer Agreements with the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry for collaborating ventures in drug development.
